🏆 Competition Format

🎲 Stage 1: Teams are drawn into groups at random.

📊 Subsequent Stages: Teams are seeded into groups using the snake seeding system, based on the overall championship standings.

  • 🅰️ Group A: Teams ranked 1st, 4th, 5th, and 8th (among the teams entered in that stage).

  • 🅱️ Group B: Teams ranked 2nd, 3rd, 6th, and 7th (among the teams entered in that stage).

🏒 During the group stage, each team plays every other team in its group once (three games per team).

🔁 After the group stage, teams play placement games to determine the final standings for the stage:

  • A1 vs. B1

  • A2 vs. B2

  • A3 vs. B3

  • A4 vs. B4

📈 Championship points are awarded according to the team's final placement in each stage:

📊 Teams accumulate championship points over the first two (2) stages, creating the overall ranking used for seeding in subsequent stages.

🧮 At the conclusion of the 2nd stage, all points earned across the two stages are combined to determine the final overall ranking.

🎟️ Following the 2nd stage, the Tournament Organizer will invite the top eight (8) ranked teams to participate in the Final Tournament (Stage 4), where the season champion will be determined.

🔄 If one or more of the Top 8 teams decline the invitation to the Final Tournament, the Tournament Organizer reserves the right to invite the next highest-ranked team(s).

👥 Team Eligibility

🧊 For each individual stage, a team may register a maximum of 9 skaters and 2 goaltenders.

📋 For the entire championship season, a team may register a maximum of 12 skaters and 3 goaltenders.

🎫 For the Final Tournament, a team may only register players who were included on the official roster for at least one (1) of the first three (3) stages.

🏅 At the conclusion of the championship, the Tournament Organizer will award the top three teams. Each awarded team will receive 12 medals, allocated as follows:

  • 🏒 9 skaters

  • 🧤 2 goaltenders

  • 🧑‍🏫 1 coach

Regulations

⏱️ Game Format

- 2 x 10 min running time / * 11 goals / 2GD (time stops only for penalties or major incidents).
- 9 players + 1 goalie

- 1 coach

- Intermission: 1 minutes between periods
- No icing, no offside
- Win = 3 pts | Tie = 1 pt | Loss = 0 pts

*Mercy Rule: The game ends when one team scores 11 goals, with a difference of 2 goals.

- For tie-breaking purposes:

  • Mercy Rule win ranks higher than a regular win.

  • A team with more Mercy Rule wins is ranked above a team with fewer Mercy Rule wins.

  • A team with fewer Mercy Rule losses is ranked above a team with more Mercy Rule losses.

Tie-Breaking

If two (2) teams are tied on points:

  1. Head-to-head result.

  2. Number of Mercy Rule wins.

  3. Goal difference.

  4. Goals scored.

  5. Fewest penalty minutes.

  6. Draw conducted by the Tournament Organizer.

If three (3) or more teams are tied on points:

A mini-table will be created using only the games between the tied teams. Ranking is determined by:

  1. Points earned in the mini-table.

  2. Number of Mercy Rule wins in the mini-table.

  3. Goal difference in the mini-table.

  4. Goals scored in the mini-table.

  5. Fewest penalty minutes in the mini-table.

  6. Overall group goal difference.

  7. Overall group goals scored.

  8. Overall group fewest penalty minutes.

  9. Draw conducted by the Tournament Organizer.

  10. If, after applying any of the above criteria, the tie is only partially resolved and only two (2) teams remain tied, the tie between those two teams shall be resolved by applying the Two-Team Tie-Breaking procedure, starting from the first criterion (head-to-head result).

🧤 Goalies

- Can pass, shoot, even score 🚀
- Play anywhere on ice

- Join shootouts (if tied and first 2 shooters miss).
- 3-second rule: After catching/freezing the puck, goalie must play it within 3 seconds.
- Safe zone triangle around the net: Opponents cannot touch goalie there.

-Goalie plays first period in the far net, second in the near net

🎯 Face-offs

- At start of periods
- After penalties or puck out of play
- After goals → goalie plays puck in

🔄 Attacking Time and mandatory line changes

-  Attacking Time. Normal play is divided into 40-second shifts. The official timekeeper sounds a clear change signal at each interval. The game clock and play continue → players must leave the ice immediately, puck stays where it is. However, the player leaving the ice may move the puck to the opposite side of the rink to assist the referee in collecting pucks.
- Referee drops a NEW puck at center ice on the opposite side of the rink for fresh players

- After the beep, one player from each team may enter the field, while the others must wait until their teammates are within 3 meters of the boards.

🚨 Penalties

- Minor = 1 min → play 3-on-2
- 2nd penalty = 3-on-1
- 3rd penalty = penalty shots
- Major = ejection + 1 penalty shot
- No body checks or open-ice hits allowed.

🏒 Playoffs & Shootouts

- If tied in playoffs → 3-player shootout (2 players + goalie)

- If still tied → goalies shoot if first 2 players from each team miss. 🥅💥
